01 · After the storm
Wind-lifted shingles.
A 50 mph gust pulls tabs and pops nails. Water finds the smallest opening. By spring you have decking rot under tabs that look fine from the ground.
02 · Ice-dam season
Water that goes uphill.
Ice dams force meltwater back under shingles, past the underlayment, and into the insulation. Most New England homes built before 1995 lack proper ice-and-water shield up the rakes.
03 · The slow leak
It travels three feet inside the wall.
The stain on your ceiling rarely comes from directly above. By the time it shows, water has run a beam, soaked insulation, and started on the drywall behind it.

22-gauge or 24-gauge panels. Snap-lock or mechanically seamed. 50-year material warranty. Best for low-slope additions and modern builds.
Slate / Cedar Shake Restoration
For Victorians and pre-1940 homes. Selective replacement, copper flashing, period-correct ridge work.
EPDM Rubber Flat Roof
60-mil membrane, fully adhered or mechanically fastened. Best for older Worcester multi-family with parapets.
TPO Single-Ply
White reflective membrane, 60-mil or 80-mil. Energy code compliant. Best for newer commercial and warehouses.
Modified Bitumen (Mod Bit)
Cap-sheet system over base ply. Common on triple-deckers. Re-coverable and patchable in spot-repair scenarios.
Multi-Family / HOA Coordination
Phased install across multiple buildings. Trustee-meeting scheduling, unit-owner notifications, common-element documentation included.

We tear off, always. Massachusetts code allows up to two layers, but we do not recommend layering — it traps moisture, voids most manufacturer warranties, and adds dead load. Tear-off is included in every quote.
Tarp protocol from the moment we open the deck. No exposed sheathing left overnight. If the forecast is over 50 percent, we reschedule — no penalty, no rescheduling fee.
